Dafen Gained promotion to Division 3 after a nail biting last ball win against Skewen.

After being inserted in to bat opener Chris Randell wasted no time by hitting some beautiful cover drives as Dafen raced to 45-0 in 8 overs. Rob Jones & Carl Holding then fell in quick succession and soon after Chris Randell (41, 10 × 4s) leaving dafen 63-3 off 13 overs.

Scott Phillips (43) and James Carpenter (22) then steadied the ship taking dafen past the 100 mark in the 19th over. From there on in all of the dafen middle order chipped in with double figures taking dafen to 255-9 off 50 overs.

Skewen had no intention of chasing down the large total as the dafen bowlers struggled to take wickets at regular intervals. James Carpenter then took 2 quick wickets in the 34th over to give dafen hope of claiming a vital maximum points win. With 7 wickets down in the 48th over the game was heading out for a draw until Scott Phillips (2-24) took 2 wickets in the 49th over to leave dafen needing 1 wicket in the final over. Andrew Randell (4-28) bowled 5 decent balls and then with the final delivery of the game one just snuck through to bowl skewen out for 145 giving dafen a 110 run victory.

With that win dafen are now 33 points ahead of Clydach who we entertain at the park next weekend as they edge closer to the Division 3 Title.
